Riding west out of Ft Qu'Appelle you'll travel around Echo and be treated to the finest piece of new pavement that our Province has to offer! After riding around Echo you'll return to Ft Qu'Appelle and start heading south on Hwy 56 to Lebret. You'll need to keep your head up to enjoy the winding road and spectacular view. Gentle rolling hills will have you shifting gears and thoroughly enjoying yourself after you pass through Lebret on your way to Katepwa. There's an Aid station in Katepwa and really nice washrooms,so take a break, fill your bottles and head back north to Lebret where you'll face your first solid climb of the day up to Balcarres on the old highway.
At the intersection you'll turn back to Ft Qu'Appelle and a thrilling descent that you so richly deserve! But, don't get too comfortable because you stay on the Highway through Ft Qu'Appelle, past the DQ Aid station and arrive at the start of your second climb of the day. However, once you get to the top the rest is relatively easy. It's a joyous ride along scenic highway 210 back to Echo and a chance to ride that piece of blacktop heaven for a second time! It's kinda like a second piece of chocolate cake.
The return to the Fort is made all the better as you think about that nice cold drink with your name on it!
