So just how fast are you? Well, on Monday night we will figure it all out!
The individual Time Trial is known as the "Race of Truth". Whenever you watch any professional race, the ITT is always one of the most exciting events to watch.
It's known as the "Race of Truth" because your result is a pure reflection of your effort and ability. No one is riding with you to block the wind or pull you along, it's just you, your bike and your mind... You need to stay focused and put out a strong effort that you can hold for 10km. Ideally, as you cross the Finish line, you should feel like you have nothing left to give.
We do two ITT's every season, one early then one towards the end. It's interesting seeing the results and how much the riders can improve.
We'll ride up Hwy 6 to Hwy 734, the Brandt house together, in your groups. We'll set up there then send you off individually down the 734 for 5km, turn round and ride back. Simple, yet so much fun!
One of the truly cool things is how some riders will discover that they are a hell of a lot faster than they thought they were! We always have a bit of reshuffling of the groups after this ride. :)
So that's it for now. The weather looks like it will be pretty decent. I will of course be monitoring it and if it is iffy, I will post a Go/No Go at 5pm.
Let me know if there are any questions, otherwise see you tomorrow.
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
