Well we certainly cannot complain about the weather. 33C for Monday!
We took a ride out on Highway 1 yesterday to Pinkie rd. Unfortunately the off ramp from the 1 to Pinkie has now been closed and torn up. To get on Pinkie from Hwy 1 means taking the service road therefore crossing Hwy 1. Frankly, it's a mess and we're not comfortable riding through it.
So for the next little while we will be meeting at the Turvey Centre and riding from there. So for Monday, meet at 6'ish Turvey Centre, 100 Armour rd.
We do have another option that may be worth considering...
Last week the Spokesmen parked at the Condie nature reserve and rode the 734 into Lumsden and back. The road is freshly paved and by all accounts was an excellent ride with some hill options in Lumsden. There's a little more traffic and no shoulder but it's still pretty quiet.
It would be a no-brainer except for getting into and out of the parking lot. There's about 100 metres of gravel. Now, all the riders bar one had no problem getting through it and he admitted that he wasn't paying attention, ( he was riding pretty slow and hit a deep patch, wasn't hurt just embarrassed.) but there is no question that you will need to be careful as you ride it. You could actually walk it, come to think of it.
If you have the time this week, take a ride/drive out there and have a look. Go out on the 11 and instead of turning right on Exit A like we always do, turn left crossing the Highway. About 500 metres, then turn left again for the Condie Nature reserve. That's where the gravel is, 100 metres, then turn left into the park.
We're thinking about it for the 17 July ride, so let us know.

I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
