I'm sat here in the Grasswoods Esso parking lot just outside Saskatoon. A perfect place to talk about Monday cycling!
Monday will be a special day in Regina as the amazing Clara Hughes comes to town. Clara's Big Ride is an amazing journey by one of Canada's greatest athletes in support of mental health. Her visit to our city includes a dinner and silent auction at the Conexus Arts Centre on Monday evening.
In support of Clara's cause we bought a couple of tables for the dinner and donated a special print of the TT silhouette picture for the silent auction. We also donated a couple of door prizes.
Our Ride Leaders are incredible people and I can never thank them enough for all they do. Inviting them to dinner to see Clara seemed like a a no-brainer on my part. It promises to be a great evening and I'm looking forward to it. I'll post more info as I have it, maybe pictures?
As a consequence of the event we will not have a scheduled supported ride on Monday. But, you've all made your schedules work around Mon evening riding so I strongly encourage you to come out anyway. I talked to some of you last week and I know that this is part of their plan! So, please, come out and ride. You all know each other by now, so ride in your groups and enjoy the evening. Summer is too short to pass a day without riding. I'll even try to find a volunteer to drive the van!
Call or contact me if you have any questions,
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
