We hope you had a good weekend and made the most of this wonderful weather. Of course, like so many of us, I would not mind a bit of rain to bring my lawn back from the dead. My neighbor down the road has artificial turf installed and it looks fantastic however it is very expensive so I think I might leave that option until next year.
Looks like it will be hot tomorrow so please remember to bring your water bottles. Real water bottles that you can squeeze and nozzles that you can open with your teeth! Also it might be a good idea to bring a jacket or something for after the ride. I know I get a bit cold after I've been riding.
I'm going to change the route a little tomorrow. Instead of turning left out of Evraz and going to Hwy 6 we are going to turn right and head out to Hwy 11. We'll follow the same route as the Time Trial, turning onto the 734 and going up to the 6. Then, depending on which Group you are in we will either turn left or right depending on how much time we have. There's a couple of reasons I want to do this, both safety related.
The Hwy 6/ Armour rd intersection is pretty busy, the Hwy 6/734 not so much.
Hwy 734, although a bit crappy is pretty quiet and ideal for drill work, sprints etc...
Now Hwy 11 is a little busier but it has a wide shoulder and is well paved. Still, you need to have your head up and eyes open. Look after each other, be smooth and steady in the paceline and talk to each other.
Meet at 6, riding by 6:30 Turvey Centre, 100 Armour rd. See you there!
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
