We've had tons of requests for "some good old hill training"....
OK, it was one person, it was a guy, his name was Colin, he lives in Saudi Arabia but he likes us.
However it is a great idea especially as I will not be there! This week I'm in SD and Montana on my motorbike. The original plan was to go down to NC to ride the Tail of the Dragon but it will take three days to get there and three back and I need to be here next Saturday for Scarlett's first birthday party. :)
So I'm here in Spearfish, SD, spectacular weather and a lovely campsite. The bike riding is amazing. Theresa and I came down here last year on our bikes and really enjoyed it. Pretty cheap and only 7 hrs away.
But enough about me, I hear you say, what's the plan for Monday? Simple, we are doing hills in Lumsden! Meet at the High School at 300 Broad st. We'll do a brief warm up ride out to Seven Bridges rd and then split up to tackle the various hill options that we have. Your Ride Leaders are all familiar with the area and will choose the hill based on what they want you to do. For the beginner Groups, expect to spend some time learning the correct way to shift gears, how to brake appropriately and the correct position to be in when climbing. For the more experienced Groups, it's a lot of work followed by wheeeeee!
Make sure your tires are pumped and you're ready to rock. Neil will not be with us so your Ride Leaders will look after you, hopefully!
Parking is not too bad at the school, but please do not overwhelm the area. Lumsden is pretty small so you can park anywhere and just ride over.
Meet at 6, riding by 6:30
See you next week,
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
