Last night was a fun way to end our Monday night rides. Seeing everyone just hanging around and visiting each other seemed like a good idea and was well received by all. Probably the most exciting thing for us is seeing how many friendships are made while on the bike.
So, the weather is still looking pretty good for a ride this Sunday. Obviously I'll keep an eye on things and advise as required. So, if you're interested, we'll meet at 0900 at the Rexentre in Ft Quappelle
Well last week turned out to be a bit of a bust. I know that there was a collective sigh of relief when I admitted defeat and cancelled the ride. :) Because I'm a bit obsessive I watched the weather for the rest of the evening and it did not really clear up until 7:30 or so.
So let's try again tomorrow evening. The weather looks nice and stable, warm, 24C and sunny. Now the one thing we need to be aware of is that sunset will be 8:02 pm so I really want you back in the parking lot by 7:45 at the latest. What I'd like to do is get you all riding by 6:15 so please plan accordingly and be at the Coop in Harbour Landing for 6pm.. Also bring your rear blinky lights and use them!
After the ride we'll have pizza and dilly bars available for a little social. Bring a jacket and maybe a lawn chair if you think of it. Make a point of saying hi to that rider you kept seeing!
You might want to pencil in Sunday the 30th for the second Spoke n'Hot 100! Theresa and I missed the first one so we are going out to Ft Quappelle to do the ride and you're all invited.Bring a friend! The beauty of this particular route is that there are multiple distance options that will make everyone happy,20 km, 50 km, 100 km.
We'll start in Ft Q at the Rexentre at 0900. I'll post the route info later this week and put out a Facebook invite as well.
See you tomorrow,
I like to think that we are a cultured bunch so the title seems appropriate. All credit to the immortal bard, Mr William
" Why say in five words what I can say in fifteen? Shakespeare for a fitting way to sign off the season of Monday night rides.
The weather looks like it should be ok but I will keep an eye on it as the day progresses. As promised, I've ordered the pizza and dilly bars for after the ride so plan on hanging around for a little while after we get back. Maybe throw a lawn chair in the car if you think of it? A jacket might also be a good idea.
We will ride from the CoOp as usual but I want you back at the parking lot for 8pm. It's getting darker now with sunset by 8:16pm so let's be smart.
It's the last of the Monday night rides but the season still has legs. We can talk about weekend rides tomorrow night!
See you soon,
We returned late last night from Waskesiu where Theresa competed in the annual Frank Dunn triathlon. Apparently her recent trip to Ironman Canada was not enough so we jammed in this race at the last minute. We were pleased to see a couple of our Spokies competing there also, Bianca and Pam. Bianca had a very good race and seemed pleased with her result, I didn't see Pam though.
So tonight looks like it will be a hot one as long as the thunderstorms hold off. This will be our penultimate ride together on a Monday evening. Sunset is now at 8:29 so I will ask that you are all back to the Parking lot at the Co-op by 8pm.
Meet at the Co-op parking lot in Harbour Landing at 6. Let's try to get out as fast as possible to make the most of the evening. If the weather looks weird I'll let you know by 4pm as usual.
Because we were in Whistler we missed out on the chance to ride the Spoke n'Hot 100 with you. This is bugging us both so we are looking at the schedule and trying to find a suitable date to go out there and do it. We'd love it if you'd join us. I'll let you know in the next couple of days.
See you tonight,
As it is a stat holiday tomorrow we will not be having our normal evening ride. However it is far too nice a day to waste indoors or just sitting on the deck drinking beer! So, in order to allow you the prospect of drinking aforesaid beer guilt free Theresa and I are inviting you to join us for a ride tomorrow morning at 0900.
We'll meet at my office at 2318 Assiniboine ave East and head out on the 33 to Kronau. We think it's about 20km each way.
I'm not sure if Schneiders in Kronau is open for ice cream or not but I'm bringing money just in case!
Hope to see you there,
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
