A couple of weeks ago, Freddy showed me the new 2017 Specialized Roubaix. I've been thinking about a new bike for a while now,Theresa has been rocking the electronic shifting on her Lulu and I really liked the way it worked for her.
But better shifting was not enough for me to make a change so I hummed and hah'd and put it off until Freddy mentioned the suspension on the Roubaix. Intrigued, I went to the store. Well, I was impressed and that was the end of the humming and hah'ing!
We decided that I'd better get fitted to the bike so at 0900 on Tuesday I showed up at Dutch with shoes in hand. Roy was busy setting up the Retul bike fit system.
So after Roy had set things up I jumped on the Retul and he put the sensors on all the pivot points of my body. These points are tracked by the scanner to see how my legs move.
By looking at the monitor and making adjustments to my position "on the fly" he was able to get the best fit for me, maximising power and comfort. The whole process was very quick and my riding out here in Penticton has been better because of it. The Retul video below is worth a look at and if you're thinking about whether you need a fit then stop by Dutch and talk to any of the staff. Personally I think you're better off spending a little less on your bike but getting a fit done. It makes a huge difference.
I tend to be the noisy one, Theresa and the Ride Leaders are the real story.
